Printing at Reed

CIS supports many networked laser printers around campus. These are free for use by faculty and staff; there is a fee for student printing.

Printing for students

Printers for student use are located at the IRCs, in the Library, and in every dorm (other printers are reserved for faculty and staff use). Black and white laser printing costs 10 cents per printed side. There are two color printers available, one in the IRCs and one in the Library; color printing costs 35 cents per printed side. Each student receives an allotment of free printing at the beginning of the school year.  Freshmen, sophomores and juniors receive a $20 allotment, and seniors get $40.  Printing charges (and allotment credits) show up on your College bill, generated by the business office. To see details about your bill, visit http://printing.reed.edu.

Printing for faculty and staff

Printers are available near your office, usually in a faculty lounge, department secretary's office, or a secured closet. CUS will usually have set up your computer to print to the printer nearest you; if you need help, contact CUS or ask your department secretary.  You can also follow the detailed instructions on this page.
