Self-Defense Theory and Fitness

Self defense is more than just punching and kicking--it starts with our mindset and our ability to set and maintain boundaries. How can we best prepare ourselves for self-defense in the midst of social-distancing and online learning?  Each week we will work on building your endurance and agility, as well as the physical skills necessary to defend yourself if a confrontation does become physical. If you want your body to be able to run fast or fight hard in an emergency, you have to teach it how!  This course also provides a foundational understanding of situational awareness, assertive behavior, and violence dynamics that can help students to de-escalate confrontational situations before they become physical.

This class is open to all experience levels, but focuses on providing a safe and welcoming environment for beginners.
