Enabling Cookies in Your Web Browser

If you're having trouble connecting to resources via the Remote Access Proxy, follow these steps to enable cookies in your browser. If you have questions along the way, please contact the Help Desk at cus@reed.edu or call x7525

Due to the problems inevitably encountered in other browsers, we officially recommend only Firefox for both Mac and PC. If you are using another browser, make sure you are setting up your proxy settings as described here.

Enabling Cookies in Firefox

  1. Open a Firefox browser window.
  2. Open the Preferences window.
    • on a Mac, click the Firefox menu, and choose Preferences.
    • on a PC, click the Tools menu, and choose Options.
  4. Click the Privacy tab on the left side of the Preferences window. In the right window, click on the word "Cookies", and make sure the Cookies window is expanded.
  5. Check the box next to Allow sites to set cookies.
  6. Click OK to exit Firefox preferences.
  7. Completely quit and restart Firefox.
