Post Baccalaureate Research Fellowships

Reed Biology seniors may apply for Post-Baccalaureate Research (PBR) Fellowship awards to conduct research with a faculty mentor during the summer immediately after their graduation.  Awarding decisions are based on the seniors' current progress on their thesis and the potential to further develop or complete this project given additional research time. On rare occasions this award may be related to progress on independent research related to a course other than thesis.

The Post-Baccalaureate Research (PBR) Fellowship provides a $6,600 stipend and a budget of up to $1,500 for supplies, equipment, and travel. The Fellowship duration is 10 weeks though proposals for shorter durations may be submitted upon consultation with the faculty mentor.

The application deadline is 12:00pm on Weds., March 4th, 2026.

The Application process for the Post-Baccalaureate Research fellowship is handled separately from the other summer undergraduate research fellowships in the department.
