The School for Field Studies in Australia has a focus on Tropical Rainforest Studies. Although this is particularly suited to students interested in Biology and Environmental Studies, SFS programs offer ample resources and opportunities for students in all disciplines. The SFS center for Rainforest Studies is at the edge of the Atherton Tablelands, surrounded by World Heritage forests, farmland, and tropical hills. Students live in cabins within the rainforest. Students will look at various policies, using field research, collaboration with local landholders and environmental organizations, and a student directed project to explore possibilities for this area of the country. Students must be nominated by IPO director, Alberto del Río Malo. Reed students with at least 2 years of college-level German language can participate in a direct exchange that enables students from both institutions to exchange places for a semester or full year. Reed participants are provided with general orientation guidance as well as academic advising; they can enroll in courses taught in German at either the Freie or Humboldt Uni alongside regular students at the universities. Housing is provided in student residences throughout the city.

Reed students with at least 2 years of college-level German can enroll in a broad range of German university courses with the support of a structured program. This program was founded in 1995 with the goal of helping students improve their German and focus on related areas of study. As such, students begin with a 6 week German Discourse and Culture course followed by direct enrollment in courses at the Freie in a broad range of subject areas of their choice. Students begin with a "Guest Stay" housing program with German hosts followed by shared apartments or residences.
Reed students without prior German language experiences are welcome to study in this program offering a German language course at the students level, as well as 4 courses taught in English that cover a variety of subjects. Students may live with German host families or in housing arranged by the program. Unlike options 1 and 2, this program runs on the traditional U.S. semester calendar thus making it possible for students to study either fall or spring semester.

Operating through Lewis and Clark, the Munich study-abroad exchange is an exclusively year-long program at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität. Upon arrival in Munich, students will undergo an intensive 4-week orientation period focusing on linguistic, cultural, and pedagogical integration, and will then be offered courses both from the Lewis and Clark faculty and directly through the University itself (all Lewis and Clark classes are taught in German).

The primary focus of this program is to provide students with first-hand experience with Greece, in its ancient, medieval and modern contexts. For obvious reasons, CYA is an incredible opportunity for students studying classics. Students who study in Greece through CYA will undergo a process of orientation upon arrival, which will acquaint students with staff and faculty, provide information on the program and Greek life, and will introduce the city Athens through planned activities and group outings. All courses will be taught in English, but students are encouraged to study Greek and/or Latin as part of their courseload. In addition to language courses, students can choose from a wide variety of disciplines including as history, religion, philosophy, art history, political science, and more. All students will live in apartments (four or five students per apartment in double and single rooms) in local residential buildings in the Pangrati quarter of Athens, located about ten to twenty minutes walking from the CYA Academic Center. Program fees cover a mid-day meal at the Academic Center on weekdays, but all other meal accommodations must be procured by the students themselves. In addition to group trips and cultural events, numerous extra-curricular activities and athletics are organized by the program, as are volunteer opportunities. CYA also has an open-door drop-in policy for all types of student support (academic, personal, etc) at the Academic Center. Contrary to its name, this program is offered in both semester and year-long commitments.

Students may choose to spend a year or semester studying in Jerusalem through the Hebrew University. Courses may be taken either directly through the University, where all lessons will be taught in Hebrew, or through the Rothberg School for Overseas Students, where courses on Hebrew language and Middle-Eastern Studies are taught in English. The latter program focuses more heavily on guided cultural immersion. In both programs, students may choose to live in university housing complexes with local students or independently, off-campus. Counseling and academic support networks are offered to all students, as well as a variety of social and cultural events throughout each semester. Athletic and social clubs and facilities can allow international students access to local student communities, and are highly recommended for breaching cultural barriers. There is no language requirement for the Rothberg program, but proficiency in Hebrew must be displayed in order to test into the direct study at the Hebrew University. Students must also maintain at least a 3.0 GPA to qualify for this program.

Students studying through this program can choose from three avenues of study depending on their proficiency in Italian. Courses can be taken exclusively at the SUF campus, partly at the SUF campus with additional intensive language and cultural studies at the Centro di Cultura per Stranieri - Università di Firenze, or solely and directly through the University of Florence. Housing in this program differs in accordance to academic focus, placing students in either homestays or apartments. All arts and sciences students are automatically placed in homestays, with architecture and studio art majors as the exceptions. The SUF campus is a five-building compound ten minutes from the city center by foot. In addition to its teaching facilities, the campus provides students with a computer lab, a library, and a scenic garden. In the interest of student integration and cultural education, SUF organizes internships for students upon request, as well as volunteer opportunities. This program offers students the opportunity to spend a semester or year studying in Lebanon at the American University of Beirut. Courses are taught in English, allowing students without prior experience in Arabic a porthole into Lebanese life and culture. Students can either live on-campus in university housing, or may search for off-campus, independent accommodations. Meals will be arranged accordingly, through campus cafeterias or privately. Students will undergo an orientation program upon arrival at AUB. This program is notable for its low faculty-student ratio (1:13) and its subsequent small class sizes and intimate atmosphere. There are approximately 1500 international students studying at AUB every year, and the Office of International Programs (OIP) is accordingly developed and supportive. Special events, trips and other social activities are arranged to guide student immersion, and a Student Ambassador program is offered to help students through the first week of classes. Counseling and academic support are also offered with the help of a walk-in advising center. This program, run with Hamilton College, is open to students with a minimum of four semesters of college-level Spanish. Located in a residential quarter of Madrid, students take courses taught by members of the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid or by other authorities in the fields of letters, history and the arts. In order to give students the best opportunity to come into close contact with Spanish life, each student lives with a Spanish host. The Chinese Language Center, founded in 1956, teaches Chinese as a second language to 1,700 students from 70 different countries during each academic year. The program explores the human elements of these the complex conservation issues. Our curriculum and research focus on how changes in land use and resource availability in the Tarangire-Manyara ecosystem can be managed to foster the well-being of local communities while safeguarding and promoting biodiversity conservation. Students learn about the socioeconomic, policy, and environmental drivers and implications of demographic change and land reform for wildlife conservation and rural development. Students hear lectures by park wardens, wildlife veterinarians, and field researchers. They also interview Maasai community members about challenges they face by the rapid loss of natural resources.
