Teaching

My focus is primarily pedagogy and curriculum development. I have taught a range of courses during my teaching career at the introductory level, to upper division courses, and small seminars speciailizing in Cognition, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, Research Methodology and Data Analysis in Psychology, Human Relations, Psychology of Women, and Psychology of Gender. I have had experience mentoring students interested in post graduate education as well as careers in non-academic fields. My aim is to engage students and help them find their own autonomy as well as develop both specialized and general skills that will help them in a variety of contexts (communication of science, research skills, individual efficacy, group dynamics, problem solving). My role as Department Associate in Psychology at Reed is to develop curriculum and assessment for the Foundations in Psychology course (PSY 101), primarily teach the Applied Labs in the Foundations in Psychology Course (PSY 101 AL), teach an Intro PSY lab on the Methods in Psychology of Music (PSY 209), and primarily teach the labs for Statistics in Psychology (PSY 348).
