Teaching

My focus is primarily pedagogy and curriculum development. I have taught a range of courses during my teaching career at the introductory level, to upper division courses, and small seminars speciailizing in Cognition, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, Research Methodology and Data Analysis in Psychology, Human Relations, Psychology of Women, and Psychology of Gender. I have had experience mentoring students interested in post graduate education as well as careers in non-academic fields, and have guided students in completing undergraduate research. My aim is to engage students and help them find their own autonomy as well as develop both specialized and general skills that will help them in a variety of contexts (communication of science, research skills, individual efficacy, group dynamics, problem solving). My role as Department Associate in Psychology at Reed is to develop curriculum and assessment for the Foundations in Psychology course (PSY 101), lead Applied Labs in the Foundations in Psychology Course (PSY 101 AL), lead the Intro lab on Psychology of Music (PSY 209), and support facilitation of the labs for Research Design and Data Analysis (PSY 348).
