Through this unique exchange program, Reed students can choose to study at three major universities in Barcelona: the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), the Universitat de Barcelona (UB), and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra de Barcelona (UPF). A wide variety of classes are offered across disciplines, and courses can be taken in both English and Spanish. BUP allows students significant flexibility in their studies and a high level of independence to curate their study abroad experience in the vibrant international city of Barcelona. This program is unique because it is run through Reed, and a variety of events are hosted for students in the program. This starts with an orientation program to introduce students to the three universities, with a special focus on whatever school each student has chosen to study at. There are also monthly activities for students in the program, including an overnight. Some examples of past events include a cooking course, a round table on women in Barcelona, and a common event is picnics in the park. There are also two staff members in charge of the program, who are availible to contact and have weekly office hours for students.

Visa Deadlines and Requirements:
Getting a visa for a single semester is much easier than one for a full school year, students should be aware that they are two different processes. The first step is to ensure students have a valid passport as early as possible. Reed students will apply through the Spanish Consulate in San Francisco, which operates a mail-in program. This can still take a few months, so students should be aware of this. Once accepted into the program, students will have a first advising meeting with the program coordinators which will include visa advising.
