Community safety

The community safety office is open around the clock to support the needs of the college and its guests, and to provide security on campus. Community safety officers unlock campus buildings as requested, and assist students who are locked out of their vehicles. When other college offices are closed, officers escort students on campus and serve as contact for the night bus. They also maintain information about local hospitals and pharmacies, and help with transportation issues.

Financial matters

Banking and check cashing

Three banks are within walking distance of the college:

  • Wells Fargo, 4515 SE Woodstock Blvd., 503/788-0053
  • Washington Mutual, 4700 SE Woodstock Blvd., 503/238-3347
  • US Bank (ATM on-campus in the Gray Campus Center, lower level), 4727 SE Woodstock Blvd., 503/275-6292

Students may cash personal checks up to $25 at the business office.

Tuition accounts

Under FERPA, tuition account information is considered confidential. A student must complete a billing information and release form in order for a business office staff member to talk to a student's parent or other responsible party about his or her account.

Tuition bills

Bills are sent monthly to the person and address indicated on the billing information and release form provided by the student. If no billing information is received, the bills will be sent to the student's Reed mail stop. Room and board contracts are for the full academic year, with a choice of three board plans.

Tuition payment

Tuition payments are due August 12 for fall semester, and January 6 for spring semester. Payment may be made by cash, check, traveler's check, or wire transfer (call 503/777-7505). A monthly payment plan or credit card payment is available through Tuition Management Systems (TMS). See the Business Office website for more information or call TMS at 888/572-8985.
