Guidance on Student Work and COVID-19:

  • Please see the Summer 2020 Student Work Policy for guidance on summer student work.
  • Please see supervising students during COVID-19 for guidance and resources for supervisors. 
  • Supervisors who have students working physically on campus must complete this form to notify the student work office.
  • Per the following guidance issued to students and supervisors, student workers are eligible to use accrued Oregon Paid Sick Leave for hours that they were scheduled to work during a closure or that they missed due to illness. Instructions for using OPSL can be found in the Student Worker Handbook

Student Work Office

The Student Work Office facilitates meaningful work experiences which contribute to student success by fostering holistic development, academic growth, and career preparedness.

To achieve this, the Student Work Office:

  • Supports student supervisors through training, resources, best practices, and consultation 
  • Assists students in finding on-campus jobs, and provides student workers with resources and support for their on-campus positions
  • Collaborates across campus to create consistent, accessible, and equitable systems for student work

  • Guidance regarding workplace issues 
  • General questions about on-campus student work 
Supervisors of students can contact the Student Work Office for:
  • Guidance on the student hiring process
  • Training and assistance on using Handshake to post student positions
  • Guidance writing job descriptions and student worker materials/handbooks
  • Consultation regarding workplace or performance issues
  • Questions about student work policies or practices
