With specializations in General Linguistics and TESOL/Applied Linguistics and certificates in TESL/TEFL, Computational Linguistics, and Text Analytics, the MA program in Linguistics at San Diego State University prepares students for doctoral study in Linguistics and related fields and for a variety of careers in teaching and industry.
STUDENTS CAN…
• take courses in all areas of linguistics including syntax, phonology, morphology, semantics, pragmatics, discourse, computational linguistics, corpus linguistics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, second language acquisition, and TESOL, among others
• obtain research experience, including in faculty labs
• teach ESL composition, introductory linguistics, and foreign languages
• study in a diverse and inclusive environment

Non-resident and international students are strongly encouraged to apply early to be considered for a limited number of non-resident tuition waivers (waivers reduce tuition to levels paid by CA residents)
