Stata Help

acprplot

The acprplot command is one of the more complex, because it draws graphs and Stata offers a number of graph-customizaion options. The acpr stands for "augmented component-plus-residual plot, which Stata suggets is useful for detecting nonlinearities in the data. For more about the procedure and why it might be useful, see JSTOR for Mallow's (1986) paper on the subject.

As far as syntax goes, the basic command remains simply acprplot [indep var] with a slew of options. In addition to having all the normal display options for any two-way graph (type help twoway options to see those) there are some additional options common to graphs for getting the graph looking just so.
