The principal work on the program, performed by the Reed Chorus and Orchestra, is Aaron Copland's collection Old American Songs, in arrangements for mixed chorus and orchestra. The Collegium Musicum performed settings of American folk songs by Roy Harris and Virgil Thomson, among others. This is a program that should be especially attractive to those who might like to bring their children; it's short, all in English, and often funny.
