American University in Beirut
Beirut, Lebanon
This program offers students the opportunity to study in Lebanon at the American University of Beirut. Courses are taught in English, allowing students without prior experience in Arabic a porthole into Lebanese life and culture. Students will undergo an orientation program upon arrival at AUB. This program is notable for its low faculty-student ratio (1:13) and its subsequent small class sizes and intimate atmosphere. There are approximately 1500 international students studying at AUB every year, and the Office of International Programs (OIP) is accordingly developed and supportive. Special events, trips and other social activities are arranged to guide student immersion, and a Student Ambassador program is offered to help students through the first week of classes. Counseling and academic support are also offered with the help of a walk-in advising center.
