Yes. Right now, Gary Rieschel ’79 is generously matching all young alumni gifts of any amount dollar-for-dollar, plus pitching in an additional $50. Thanks to Gary, a $5 gift instantly becomes $60 for Reed.

Young alumni are champions

Last year…

  • A record-breaking 911 young alumni gave to Reed, smashing their previous best of 889 donors (set in 2012).
  • The average gift size was $18.
  • 26% gave directly to financial aid.
  • The class of 2015 alone had 117 donors—the most of any other young alumni class.

Young alumni aren’t just Reed’s best hope for the future—they are making an impact right now.

Reedies support each other generation after generation

Each year, young alumni pool their resources to award the Young Alumni Scholarship*, a need-based grant given to a new Reedie each fall. Since launching the scholarship in 2011, young alumni have raised over $68,000 for Reedies in need. Every penny donated goes straight to the scholarship—no exceptions.
