Giving to Reed

Young Alumni

Reedies (of all ages) from the class of 2010 and later.

Is there a special match for young alumni?

Yes. Right now, Gary Rieschel ’79 is generously matching all young alumni gifts of any amount dollar-for-dollar, plus pitching in an additional $100. Thanks to Gary, a $5 gift instantly becomes $110 for Reed.

Young alumni are champions

Last year…

  • Over 610 young alumni made a gift to Reed.
  • The average gift size was $35.
  • 26% gave directly to financial aid.
  • The class of 2015 alone had 86 donors—the most of any other young alumni class.

Young alumni aren’t just Reed’s best hope for the future—they are making an impact right now.

Reedies support each other generation after generation

Each year, young alumni pool their resources to award the Help A Reedie Out Scholarship, a need-based grant given to a new Reedie each fall. Since launching the scholarship in 2011, young alumni have raised over $68,000 for Reedies in need. Every penny donated goes straight to the scholarship—no exceptions.
