Public Relations Spring 2019 Internship Job Description

Little Green Pickle provides public relations, events and creative services for the food and drink industry in the Pacific Northwest. We are looking for an intern who is high-energy, detail-oriented, catches on quickly, and LOVES food!

Our intern will gain experience in public relations and events in the following areas:

  • Press list research and management – updating lists of print and online media contacts and identifying new writers, blogs, and influencers to pitch
  • Drafting press materials, pitches and press releases that will be sent to local and national media
  • Supporting conceptualization, execution and recaps of client events - collaborative dinners, media previews, strategic social media campaigns, cocktail parties, product release parties, etc.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks in a fast-paced professional environment

The ideal candidate needs to be:

  • Passionate about food – Portland, OR and beyond
  • Resourceful when researching and able to present findings concisely
  • Detail-oriented, able to organize and analyze information
  • An excellent writer - creative and idea-driven
  • Experienced in using social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
  • Self-motivated and energetic
  • Ready to learn current public relations and events practices in a hands-on way
  • Over 21 years old at start of internship, and have reliable transportation to the LGP office in inner SE Portland and for occasional event and delivery needs

Deadlines and Time Commitment: This internship will be 6 months, starting the week of January 14th and ending June 17th. This internship requires 15 hours per week – specific schedule details to be discussed during interview process. The intern will be paid $12 per hour.
