Bucknell Seminar for Undergraduate Poets

The 2019 Bucknell Seminar for Undergraduate Poets will be held June 8-June 29, 2019. The 2019 staff will include visiting poets Aracelis Girmay, Donika Kelly, and Eduardo Corral, in addition to our staff poets. The application deadline is Jan. 31, 2019 and it's free to apply.

The Seminar (now in its 35th year) is held on Bucknell's leafy campus for three weeks each June. The program is open to all undergraduate poets enrolled in the US--including those seniors who graduate in December 2018--and is designed as a hybrid residency/master class environment. Students are housed in a former Victorian mansion on campus, and the entire cost is underwritten by Bucknell (room, board, tuition, etc.). The only student expense is transportation to and from central Pennsylvania (and we even have some scholarship money for that). Each year we strive to select the twelve most distinctive and stellar undergraduate poets with an interest in living among other poets in the setting we provide. Recent students have come from a wide array of institutional settings. Our alumni include Jennifer Chang, Kyle Dargan, Ilya Kaminsky, Mary Szybist, Jane Wong, Kevin Young, and many others you most likely know and love.
