About the Minor
The goal of the Dance minor is to ensure engagement and facility in one or more areas of dance practice, coupled with a substantive understanding of dance within critical and cultural contexts.
- All students will take at least 5 units in Dance, including at least one unit at or above the 300- level and three additional units at or above the 200-level. Only one unit of this requirement may be fulfilled with a course or courses at the 100-level.
- The courses must include one unit in a designated dance studio course and one additional unit in a designated dance studies course. Hybrid courses may be counted towards either designation but not both. These designations can be found in the catalog course descriptions.
- The courses must also include one unit in a course or courses (either dance studio or dance studies) that focus on dance outside the Euro-American tradition.
