Spanish Minor

Students not majoring in Spanish but who are interested in a structured course of study in Spanish language and literature may pursue the Spanish minor. Students pursuing a Spanish minor work to achieve a high intermediate level of Spanish language proficiency and develop a familiarity with Spanish literature and culture.

Minor Requirements

The Spanish minor requires four to seven courses depending on your current language ability:
  1. Two years of language study in Spanish (Reed coursework or placement results; see chart for details).
  2. Spanish 321 (Theory and Practice of Hispanic Literature)
  3. Two or three additional 300-level couses in Spanish depending on starting course (see chart for details.
