SEEDS

Community Partners

SEEDS is committed to building and sustaining programs that are mutually beneficial for local community members, community organizations, and Reed students.

We have a number of established programs that offer opportunities for community organizations to connect with Reed students.  Inquiries from community members and organizations regarding potential partnerships are welcome.

Connect with SEEDS

To connect with SEEDS about your organization or group’s programming and volunteer opportunities, follow these steps:

  • For general partnership inquiries, such as periodic community engagement opportunities, and events collaboration, email seeds@reed.edu.
  • To be considered for inclusion in SEEDS's weekly newsletter or social media outreach* to the Reed community, email seeds@reed.edu with the following information:
    • who, what, when, where, & why of the program, event, internship posting and/or community engagement opportunities
    • a link to your website or social media
    • any relevant attachments, such as flyers or graphics
    • *Note: postings are not guaranteed.

Off-Campus Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program Host Sites

The Off-Campus Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program (as part of SEEDS's Community Engagement Internship Program) supports FWS-eligible Reed students—those with the highest financial need—in their decision to work for off-campus FWS positions hosted by local non-profit, government, or community-based organizations, and receive FWS wages during the academic year.  This made it possible for host sites to hire student intern positions that are fully paid by students' FWS awards. SEEDS is always looking for more local non-profit, government, or community-based organizations to host internship opportunities for Reed students.  Find out more if your organization would like to become an Off-Campus FWS Program-approved host site:

Posting Non-Reed Affiliated Opportunities

Reed uses Handshake to list employment, intern, and volunteer opportunities. If your organization would like to post opportunities without being a SEEDS's Off-Campus FWS Program-approved host site, you may contact Center for Life Beyond Reed for support to post opportunities on Reed's Handshake.
