Parent & Family Orientation

Parent & Family Orientation is the college's way of helping parents and family members help their student transition from high school to college. Planning for the 2021 Reed Parent & Family Orientation is underway, and more information will be available in the coming weeks. Prior to Parent & Family Orientation, we recommend visiting our online programming, which includes a combination of self-directed content and live sessions in which parents and family members virtually meet academic deans and college staff and become acquainted with their roles as they relate to the life and education of Reed students. It also consists of opportunities to learn about:

  • student services, including housing, financial aid, student health, community safety, and counseling;
  • how Reed faculty structure their classes to foster the richest education for students through a teaching-first and faculty-scholar model;
  • ways Reed is adapting in response to COVID-19
