East Jerusalem, Palestine
Students participating in the Al-Quds Honors College through Bard program are granted the rare opportunity to study for either a year or semester in the West Bank at one of Palestine’s leading liberal arts institutions. Located in Abu Dis, the Al-Quds Honors College was recently founded in 2009 (as an offshoot of Al-Quds University, established circa 1984), and is home to an intimate student body of around 150 (with foreseeable growth in the coming years).
Students who choose this program will have access to the general amenities of such a small, emergent institution, including smaller classroom sizes and more direct, hands-on relationships with faculty. Students will partake in a mandatory orientation process upon arrival in Jerusalem, which provides valuable information regarding the city, student life (both academic and non-academic), in addition to valuable tips and techniques for smooth cultural immersion.

Reed College charges the same tuition fees for a semester or year off-campus as for a semester or year spent on campus, plus the off-campus program's actual room and board fees. Students are encouraged to choose programs based on their academic, rather than financial needs, to reflect Reed College's belief that all students regardless of financial circumstances should have the opportunity to study abroad.
Financial aid continues for eligible students during their participation in an off-campus program. Students should discuss how other outside aid may impact their existing aid package with the Financial Aid Office. More details are available here.
