Language Scholars bring language and culture to life at Reed by supporting classes, leading conversation hours, and organizing cultural events. Through these activities, they create opportunities for students to practice their language skills and connect with cultures beyond the classroom.

Arabic Language Scholar Events
Moroccan Tea Ceremony
- September 18th, 6 pm
- Location: Spanish House
- Tea is at the heart of Moroccan hospitality, symbolizing warmth, generosity, and connection. Join us to discover the tradition of Moroccan mint tea, learn how it is prepared and served, and enjoy a cup together with music and sweet treats.

- Location: Spanish House
- Join us for a cozy Moroccan Movie Night! 🇲🇦🎬
Discover Morocco through cinema, culture, and storytelling while enjoying traditional Moroccan tea and snacks. Come for the film, stay for the conversation! 
Chinese Language Scholar Events
Conversation Time — Let’s Make Tanghulu
- September 22nd, 6:30–7:30 PM
- Location: Chinese House
- We will make tanghulu (Chinese sugar-coated fruit skewers). Participants learn tanghulu-related Chinese vocabulary and chat in Chinese. We provide grapes and strawberries, and attendees can bring their favorite fruits. Open to everyone, all Chinese levels welcome.

- Information session for the CET Taiwan program. Come learn about study abroad opportunities in Taiwan, program details, application tips and student experiences. All interested students are welcome.

- Location: SU (Student Union)
- We will serve mooncakes, tsukimi dango, and drinks. There will also be board games and mahjong for everyone to enjoy.

- Every Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.
- Location: Russian House
- Join us to watch great movies, enjoy tasty snacks, and have fun discussions in Russian! We watch both classic and contemporary Russian-language films.
Spanish Language Scholars Events
La merienda
- Every Wednesday, 7 pm
- Location: Spanish House
- La merienda is a friendly and relaxed space where students can practice their Spanish through casual conversation, games, and activities. Come meet other students, build confidence speaking Spanish, and enjoy!
El jueves cultural
- Thursday October 1st, 7 pm
- Location: Spanish House
- We will explore Spanish and Latin American culture from a different perspective: we will read and discuss texts by Spanish and Latin American authors, watch films, discover stories and traditions from different countries, explore art, and much more.
