Tablet 1.94-133 of Gilgamesh describes Enkidu's creation and his disruption of the hunter's world. Analyze the representation of the wild in this passage and consider the development and significance of the opposition between the city and the natural world in the larger epic.
This question asks you to start practicing the skills of 'close
reading.' As you analyze the passage, pay close attention to the
language, examining details such as imagery, diction (word choice), and
the use of repetition and think about how the patterns you notice
contribute to the meaning of the text as a whole. If you would like
