Health & Counseling Center

Built in 1938, the Glenn Chesney Quiett Infirmary serves students as a full-service health and counseling center. Many routine medical procedures and a full range of counseling services are available through the health center, as are referrals to local physicians and clinics.

The infirmary was constructed primarily with memorial funds from alumni as a tribute to Quiett, a 1920 Reed graduate who interrupted his education to serve in World War I. During this tour of duty, Quiett's health was irrevocably damaged, although he endeavored to write books and to remain an active alumnus to the end of his life. A 1960 renovation nearly doubled the building space.
