September 18, 2020

Dear students,

This message regarding COVID-19 testing is for students who live off campus and are taking classes in person this fall. If you are a student who lives on campus or you don't plan to access the Reed campus, you can disregard this message.

STEP ONE: All students who live off campus and are taking classes in person are required to be tested for COVID-19 next week, the week of September 21.

STEP TWO: All students who live off campus, are taking in-person classes this fall, and left their residences due to the air quality or the wildfires are required to be tested for COVID-19 during the week of September 21 and again during the week of September 28. After the first test, the week of September 21, you must quarantine until the college has confirmation that you have tested negative, usually within 48 hours. You will be personally notified within 48 hours of your test if you test positive. If you do not receive a personal notification from the college within 48 hours of your test, you are cleared to access campus. Students who need assistance with quarantining can contact isolation and quarantine coordinator Jess Montecalvo at studentsupport@reed.edu.

We are also asking faculty who teach in person, students who live on campus, and staff who work with large groups on campus to do the same next week. They are receiving separate communications.

If you have questions, please send an email to the COVID-19 Risk Assessment Group at coronavirusquestions@reed.edu.

Sincerely,
