COVID-19 Prevention & Response Plan

Communications

September 17, 2021

Dear select students, faculty, and staff,

COVID-19 surveillance testing will take place next week on Monday, September 20, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Thursday, September 23, from noon to 2 p.m on the patio of the Gray Campus Center (GCC).

Individuals who have not yet submitted records of full vaccination against COVID-19, either to human resources (faculty/staff) or to health & counseling services (students), are required to be tested once each week you will be on campus.

Additionally, a group of approximately 300 fully-vaccinated individuals is randomly selected each week to participate in surveillance testing as a further means of monitoring for the presence of COVID-19 on campus. If you receive this message and are fully vaccinated, we ask that you please participate in this surveillance testing program.

If you will not be accessing campus this week, you do not need to complete a test, and can disregard this email.

Individuals may drop in to the testing location to complete their required COVID-19 surveillance test during the available times; no appointment is necessary. Please refrain from eating, drinking, or smoking for 30 minutes prior to completing your test.

Surveillance testing results are usually back within 36–48 hours. Participants can view and print their results by accessing the lab’s portal. If it is your first time accessing the portal, click "Forgot Password" and request a password reset using your Reed email address.

Sincerely,

Madison Riethman, MPH, CPH
