COVID-19 Prevention & Response Plan

Communications

October 1, 2021

Dear students, faculty, and staff,

Happy Friday, and welcome to October! Fall is definitely in the air. This week, CRAG discussed the ever changing landscape of testing resources, breakthrough infections, and COVID vaccinations (including boosters), continued our assessment of in-person events, and reviewed the latest data on COVID in higher ed and beyond.

Below, we report to you two things you need to know today

  • WE IDENTIFIED ONE NEW COVID-19 CASE THIS WEEK: The positive individual was contacted promptly and given instructions to isolate. A small number of potentially exposed individuals were notified by the college but not required to quarantine, per current CDC and Oregon guidelines. We continue to report all associated COVID-19 cases online, found in the "Total Cases" section of the dashboard.
  • IF YOU PLAN OR ARE SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN SURVEILLANCE TESTING AT REED, BE PREPARED:
    • HAVE YOUR LOGIN: Before you visit the testing center, make sure you have your Predictive Labs login information on hand-- you will need this to complete your test. If you have never logged into the portal or do not remember your password, visit client.predictivelabs.com, click "Forgot Password", and enter your email address. Follow the instructions sent via email to set your password and gain access to your account. Questions or issues? Send us an email at coronavirusquestions@reed.edu.
    • KNOW THE SCHEDULE: Surveillance testing next week will be available on Tuesday, October 5 and Thursday, October 7 from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM in the lobby of Greenwood.
    • DON'T SHOW UP SICK OR EXPOSED: As a reminder, individuals may not use this testing resource if they are experiencing COVID-like symptoms or have a recent exposure to someone with COVID-19. Detailed instructions and more information can be found on our COVID-19 testing webpage.

If you have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to the COVID-19 Risk Assessment Group at coronavirusquestions@reed.edu. Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable weekend!

All my best,
