Dear students, faculty, and staff,
Today Oregon Governor Kate Brown announced a two-week pause on social activities in select counties, including Multnomah County, where Reed College resides. The new precautions will take effect on Wednesday, November 11. The goal is to further limit social interaction to reduce the spread of the virus.
You can watch Governor Brown's press briefing here. The college is reviewing how this will impact our COVID-19 protocols and will make an announcement on Monday, November 9.
It is essential that those of us who currently reside in Oregon take this new directive seriously. As Governor Brown said, "We can't let up now, and we must go on the offense to stop the spread."
Sincerely,
Madison Riethman, MPH, CPH
