COVID-19 Prevention & Response Plan

Communications

January 5, 2021

Dear students and families,

We hope you have had an enjoyable and restful start to the new year. As we prepare for the start of another semester at Reed College in just a few weeks, we want to remind you about a few important tasks and upcoming deadlines. We encourage you to review the Spring 2021 Term Checklist for more information.

  • Take the spring COVID-19 Policies and Prevention Training. All students are required to complete the updated COVID-19 training for the spring semester, even if they completed it in the fall. The training should be completed no later than this Friday, January 8.
  • Complete a two-week quarantine and the daily health check. All students are required to complete a two-week home quarantine immediately prior to their return to Reed. During this time, students should not have close contact with anyone outside their immediate households. Additionally, students should begin completing the daily health check two weeks before arrival on campus.
  • Sign up for a COVID-19 test. All students who will be accessing campus during the spring semester must sign up for and complete a COVID-19 test prior to returning to on-campus activities. Students who will be living on campus should be tested before they move in to on-campus housing. All students will be asked to quarantine until they receive their test results.
  • Review the Spring 2021 Acknowledgement of COVID-19 Risks and Prevention Expectations form. The form for students living off campus can be found here. The form for students who will be living on campus is an addendum to the housing contract. Students will receive an email on January 11 requesting an electronic signature in IRIS. The form must be signed by January 25.

If you have any questions about our preparations for the spring semester, please reach out to the COVID-19 Risk Assessment Group at coronavirusquestions@reed.edu. We look forward to welcoming you back to Reed.

Sincerely,
The COVID-19 Risk Assessment Group
