COVID-19 Prevention & Response Plan

Dear select students, faculty, and staff,

If you have not already done so, please sign up for your COVID-19 surveillance testing appointments for the spring 2021 semester.

This semester, your testing appointments will remain the same from week to week. If you have previously signed up for testing and wish to keep the same appointments, no action is necessary. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointments, please use the link below to make changes.

Surveillance testing takes place Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the student union. At your selected testing time, enter the student union on the west side of the building, through the northwest entrance doors off the GCC patio. You will exit the student union through the east doors to ensure a one-way flow of traffic.

Our new scheduling software, SignUpGenius, allows users to view and manage their appointments as needed. Participants can visit, sign in to their account, and view their appointments under the “Items I Signed Up For” section.

When using SignUpGenius, keep the following tips in mind:

  • Once you make your weekly appointments, those same time slots will carry over from week to week. If you need to change your times in a given week, make sure to cancel your existing appointments before scheduling new ones so that you don't end up with more appointments than you need.
  • If you signed up for an appointment one week and no longer need further appointments because you are not accessing campus, be sure to cancel your appointment. If you don't cancel it, it will continue to carry over from week to week.
  • Please do not unsubscribe from SignUpGenius. This is the platform Reed is using to communicate about testing appointments. If you already unsubscribed, be sure to sign yourself back up. To do this, sign in to your account and go to "Settings." Then choose the "Notifications" tab. Within "Group Subscriptions," make sure you are subscribed to "Reed College."
  • You can choose whether you'd like to receive appointment reminders by email, text, or both. In the "Settings/Notifications" window, go to "Reminders." Check the boxes for email or text reminders. If you have not yet opted in to receive text reminders, choose "Text Messaging Opt-In" in the "Notifications" window, and you'll be prompted to enter your phone number. You can also choose the time of day you prefer to receive reminders. You may change these settings at any time.

Surveillance testing results are usually back within 36–48 hours. Participants can view and print their results by accessing the lab’s portal.

Students who will be accessing campus throughout the semester are to complete two tests per week, no less than 72 hours apart. Faculty and staff members who will be interacting with others in person on campus should complete one test per week.
