Vanessa Renwick discusses her multimedia piece "Patriot Act" on Saturday, May 1

Book reading by author William T. Vollmann follows

WHAT: Portland artist Vanessa Renwick discusses her recent work, Patriot Act , followed by acclaimed author William T. Vollmann reading from his story "The Red X," based on events in Renwick's artistic life.

NOTE: Vollmann's reading is followed by a 6 p.m. book signing at Reading Frenzy, 921 SW Oak Street in downtown Portland.

WHEN: Saturday, May 1, 2004, 4 p.m.

LOCATION: In the US Bank Room of the first floor of the Multnomah County Central Library, 801 SW 10th at Taylor, in downtown Portland.

Patriot Act , a new multimedia work by Portland artist Vanessa Renwick, is an impassioned and sublime installation exploring the shifting personal and constitutional liberties in the United States. This latest Case Works exhibition is on view through June 13, 2004, on the main floor of the Eric V. Hauser Memorial Library at Reed College.
