CONCERT OF SACRED AND PROFANE MUSIC SET FOR 4/21

The Reed College chamber orchestra, chorus, and Collegium Musicum will present "Music Sacred and Profane" on Sunday, April 21, at 8 p.m. in Reed's Kaul Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Reed events line at 503/777-7755.

The Reed chamber orchestra and chorus, conducted by David Schiff, R.P. Wollenberg professor of music, will perform Haydn's Missa Sancti Bernardi de Offida (better known as the Heiligmesse) of 1796. The orchestra will also play Debussy's Danse sacrée et danse profane. The Collegium Musicum, directed by professor of music Virginia Hancock, will perform secular (very secular) English and Italian madrigals of the late Renaissance.
