System Status

 Internet and Network disruption

Fiber optic connections across campus were disrupted this morning,
causing various network and service outages. We believe most services
have been restored at this point, but let us know if you discover
something not working. We apologize for the interruption.

There may be some brief interruptions as TIS repairs the network going

 Network Issues

At approximately 8:30am this morning, a portion of Reed’s network infrastructure failed, causing disruption of many Reed services including Moodle and IRIS, as well as some internet access. CIS staff are working on the problem.

At this time Reed1x is also unavailable, ReedXenia is the only wireless network available on campus. Staff needing access to admin services will need to use a wired internet connection. 

Phone service is unaffected, and administrative services are online. 

We apologize for the interruption in services. When services have been restored an email notification will be sent, and an update will be posted to the CIS status page.

Planned Outages

Wireless Network Tuning • October 2016

CIS has completed the first round of wireless network tuning and we are now ready to focus on tuning specific buildings.  The work will take place between 7:30am and 8:00am Tuesday and Thursday mornings for the next several weeks.  Both Reed1x and ReedXenia will remain online but active users may experience a brief loss of connectivity (five minutes or less).
