Subject: A message of care and concern

December 13, 2021

Dear students, faculty, and staff:

My heart aches as I watch news coverage of the tornadoes and extreme weather that left a trail of devastation across at least six states—Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, and Tennessee—this weekend. I write to you with care and concern for all of those impacted by this tragedy, and I want you to know that if you need support during this time, there is support available for you.

We have confirmed that Reed has 82 students who are from the six states hit by the tornadoes. Vice President for Student Life, Karnell McConnell-Black, is reaching out directly to those students to provide resources and support as needed. Should other students need support, please connect with the Reed Care Team. For employees, free resources are available through the Employee Assistance Program.

To all of those who may be personally affected, or have friends and/or family members affected by this disaster, please know that you are in my thoughts.

With care,

Audrey
