Subject: An Important Announcement from President Bilger

May 19, 2026

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Milyon Trulove has informed me that he intends to move on from his role as Vice President and Dean of Admission and Financial Aid after 12 years of service to the college. He has agreed to serve in an advisory role as Special Advisor to the President on Enrollment Management beginning June 1st to ease the transition for the college.

Milyon joined Reed in 2014 after serving as Dean of Admission and Financial Aid at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. He was Reed’s first Vice President and Dean of Admission and Financial Aid, merging both admission and financial aid under his leadership.

Under Milyon’s leadership, Reed experienced record growth in applications, broadened its national reach, enrolled a more geographically, ethnically, and financially diverse student body, increased selectivity, and developed critical relationships with the college counseling community. His efforts in financial aid greatly expanded Reed’s socioeconomic diversity. In 2025, he developed The Reed Promise, a program that further increases access by offering free tuition to families earning under $100,000.

In recent years, Milyon co-led Reed’s Retention, Persistence, and Graduation Group, charged with improving the college’s standing in these areas, and conducted a comprehensive Enrollment Study to better understand Reed’s position in the marketplace. His focus on data-informed practices and analytics helped us better understand the national pressures that impact enrollment.

Milyon has been a generous and supportive member of my leadership team. He is devoted to recruitment and to the student experience. His welcoming and warm image of the college has been heartfelt and well-received by new families, their students, and the college community.

Please join me in expressing gratitude to Milyon for his outstanding work on behalf of Reed.

We will celebrate Milyon on Wednesday, May 27, 3-5 p.m., with a reception in the Quad. I hope you can join us.

Sincerely,

Audrey
