Places Like Reed Will Inspire More People
Anitra Ingalls ’92 wandered into a biology lecture as a freshman art student and never looked back—now she reads the ocean the way doctors read blood.
Reed helped an originally-shy Mariana Beyer Chapa ’21 blossom into the Harvard Law student she is today as she fights for immigrants at one of the most consequential moments in US History.
For Nick Pittman ’13 the numbers only matter when you see the people behind them—and his Reed economics thesis set him on a path to creating affordable housing for families who need it most.

A Champion for Low-SES and First-Gen Students
Flor Lopez ’26 arrived at Reed not knowing where to turn. She leaves as a screenwriter, a fellowship winner, and the president of a Kollectiv she rebuilt for students like her.
The Joy of Explaining the Problem
Luna Lu ’29 is a computer scientist who thinks like an actor. She'll tell you that's exactly what makes her better at both.
"I want to continue challenging how I think about the world—and just continuing to think critically about things, and not necessarily take them at face value. That’s something that every class here has taught me…and that’s what Reed is all about."
— Flor Lopez ’26
