Reed has joined Belong!
The Office of Institutional Diversity (OID), Human Resources (HR), and the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) have partnered to bring Belong: An Inclusive Learning Community to Reed.

Fostering Civil Discourse
Our fall 2025 webinar, “Fostering Civil Discourse: Strategies for Facilitating Deliberative Dialogue in the College Classroom,” shares strategies for effectively structuring and facilitating dialogue that allows us to have thoughtful, respectful conversations around complex and often contentious issues.
- August 26, 2025 | 2 – 3 PM
- The webinar takes place during Reed's convocation; we'll host a watch party, so we can watch together, and follow-up discussions at a future date.
Four Key Foundations
Belong provides faculty and staff with structured learning opportunities through four foundational components:
- Cornerstone Webinars: Faculty and staff have unlimited access to quarterly webinars on belonging and inclusivity that offer actionable strategies.
- On-Demand Resources: The Push Library delivers professional development materials twice a month, including instructional videos, surveys, implementation guides, expert articles, and past cornerstone webinars.
- Nationally Recognized Credentials: Each year, six faculty or staff will participate in Fostering a Culture of Belonging, an ACUE course covering bias, imposter phenomenon, stereotype threat, and microaggressions.
- ACUE’s Quick Study Courses: 50 faculty and staff will gain access to ACUE’s research-based Quick Study Courses, which offer flexible modules on effective teaching and inclusive pedagogy.
