At XXI: 162-252, the suitors fail to string Odysseus's bow and then Odysseus reveals himself to Philoetius and Eumaeus. Develop a close reading of this passage that makes an argument for what this episode reveals about Homeric values and social structures and their relationship. You might also address how this passage contributes to or complicates the Odyssey's construction of the Homeric hero.
