About Me
I'm the most useless DataLabbie.

Why I Like Being a DataLabbie
I don't. I'm afraid of everyone.

I Can Help You With
Absolutely nothing!

Fun Fact
I was picked up as a stray the day after Christmas.

About Me
I'm a second-year Reed CS student interested in data science, explanatory data writing, and webscraping.

Why I Like Being a DataLabbie
I love helping people and exploring all the interesting problems people bring to the Data Lab!

I Can Help You With
Questions related to R, RStudio, data science and data visualization. I'm also proficient in Python, C, C++, MIPS, HTML, CSS, JS, and webscraping in a couple of languages.

Fun Fact
My (current) favorite author is Ursula Le Guin, but I also love Arkady Martine and Seanan McGuire.

Aziz Gibson

About Me

aziz_gibson.jpegI bang my head against my computer monitor all day (so you don't have to).

Why I Like Being a DataLabbie
I love the wide variety of problems I'm exposed to that help me grow. Making beautiful and informative data visualizations is the primary reason I signed up. I hope to be as cool as ourworldindata.org one day.

I Can Help You With
Pretty much anything! I still have limited experience with GIS and Stata though. Some stuff I've done in the past include: Web Scraping / Automation, cybersec and networking, Linux (mostly Arch and some Nix), command line stuff (I'm a warp.dev evangelist), self-hosting, virtualization (including Docker), Web Dev Frameworks, Databases and Pipelines (mostly InfluxDB-related), and a bunch of other stuff I'm not remembering right now. If you're not sure how you want to approach a big project I'm happy to discuss it with you! Python has a soft spot in my heart but I'm happy to help with R, LaTeX, or Javascript issues as well.

Fun Fact
I'm really into sci-fi (especially Liu Cixin, Iain M. Banks, Ted Chiang, Andy Weir, Neal Stephenson, etc) and strategy games like Civilization and Stellaris. I also know way too much about note-taking apps, if you spend too much time around me I will try to convert you to obsidian.md.
