The mLab (ETC 226) is a space with dedicated resources and trained staff to support the use of technology in teaching and scholarship at Reed. 

Faculty have 24/7 swipe access to the mLab. Staff or students working on faculty research can contact to request mLab access.

Common uses of the mLab include:

  • Drop-in help at the DataLab
    • Trained student workers ("DataLabbies") are available to provide support for drop-ins. DataLabbies can answer questions about data analysis or coding and help you locate resources. 
    • Check the calendar to see the current student shift schedule.
  • Video conferencing
    •  To book, please check the calendar to ensure there are no conflicts. Then contact with your appointment details. 
  • Borrowing or using technology
    • The mLab is equipped with a full computer lab, a flatbed scanner and a color printer. There is also video editing stations available.

The mLab also offers extended support for larger and longer-term projects. We have a number of specialties including data wrangling/analysis/visualization (R and Stata),GIS/mapping, and multimedia/web work. For project help, contact us at with your project details, availability, and timeline.
