Headshot of Kiana Fields. You helped Kiana choose a college that placed an emphasis on intellectual curiosity, creativity, and student autonomy. Thanks to you, Kiana was able to dig deep into environmental issues at Reed with faculty mentors in biology and history who encouraged her to stretch and work collaboratively with students in chemistry and political science. Together, they approached projects across disciplines and changed her perspectives forever. Reed has enabled me to pursue all my interests: mock trial, election work, nuclear reactor training, participating in the French learning community, and working one-on-one with leading scholars. —Alastair Budd ’27
Headshot of Alastair Budd. After attending an international relations seminar where the speakers laid out all of the drama, intrigue, and complexity of history in real time, Alastair decided to dedicate himself to political science. Thanks to you, he was able to get an internship at WeVote, a voter education organization dedicated to the creation of a nonpartisan electoral guide. Last fall, he headed to France for a semester at Sciences Po, a leading school for political science and a dream for a Reedie interested in international relations who wants to enrich their college experience.

I found a wonderful community of people at Reed who look out for one another and take genuine interest in each other's goals. —Care Paden ’25

Headshot of Care Paden. Thanks to you, Care Paden ’25 found a supportive network that included professors in the English department who helped her find a home within her major, an Office of Academic Support that paired her with dedicated student tutors who helped her succeed in her intro statistics course, and a Health and Counseling Center that provided consultations at no cost. This support inspired Care to give back to the community by serving as an Orientation and Wayfinding Leader for two classes of incoming students.
