Environmental Studies

Environmental Studies is an interdisciplinary major for the student who wants broad training in environmental themes. Environmental Studies majors select a primary disciplinary focus in biology, chemistry, economics, history, or political science.

Environmental Studies Fellowship Opportunities

  • Sophomore/junior environmental enthusiast? Consider applying for a Udall Fellowship: a nationally competitive student award. Look here and here for more info. Reed reviews applications each January.
  • The estimated submission deadline for the 2024 Environmental Studies Summer Experience Fellowship March 6th.
  • The Mason Student Opportunity Fellowship was created with the goal of supporting research work related to the Reed canyon. Research proposals for broader environmental research will be concidered if no canyon-related proposals are submitted. The application deadline for 2024 will be in also likely be March 6th, 2024.
