Education and Experience

I received a BA and MA in Classics from Brown University in 1986, a second BA (and gratuitous MA) in Literae Humaniores from Oxford University in 1989, and my Ph.D. in Ancient History from the University of Pennsylvania in 1996. After teaching at Bowdoin College and the University of Iowa, I came to Reed in 2002 and received tenure in 2005.
