The mLab is a space with resources and services in support of the use of technology in teaching and scholarship at Reed. The mLab complements other CIS offerings through in-depth support, teaching, hands-on help, and cutting-edge gear. The mLab is supported by Instructional Technology Services (ITS).

Common uses of the mLab include:

  • Conducting interviews or meetings using videoconferencing
  • Investigating a new technology, including help with the technology and advice on how it might work for you
  • Using technological tools such as large-format scanners or video-editing software
  • Borrowing a piece of high-tech gear (digital SLR, tablet PC, and more)

In addition to offering equipment and meeting space, ITS can help you explore technology as it applies to your teaching and research. Get in touch if:

  • You would like help with a project that uses technology in teaching
  • You want to learn about how other faculty are using technology
  • You are interested in educational technology training
  • You would like to explore educational technology tools like clickers or smartboards
  • You are intested in a new-to-you area of technology (e.g. data visualization, digital media)
