Standard Language Ideology - Cultural Context of the Scouse Accent

This TikTok discusses why a large portion of people in England have largely negative opinions on the Liverpool or "Scouse" accent, tying it to a wave of Irish immigration. This video reminded me a lot of the Zhao & Liu reading on views of regional Putonghua from Shanghai and Ningbo, as in those cases the opinions people had on these regional accents seemed to also be largely effected by general views on the cities they come from.
