Politics and Policy Lecture Series

2010-11

The Public Policy Lecture Series (PPLS) is on hiatus this year as Reed hosts the annual meeting of the Association for Political Theory, a major international academic conference.

You are invited to join us for two conference plenaries: a keynote address by Bernard Yack (Brandeis University) on October 22, 2010, and a panel discussion on “Hind Swaraj after a Century: Gandhi’s Challenges to Political Theory” on October 23, 2010. Both events will take place in Vollum lecture hall, with receptions beforehand

As part of Reed’s Parent & Family Weekend, we invite you to join us for “Race and Economics in the Age of Obama,” a panel discussion featuring Paul Gronke (Reed College), Gabriel Lenz ‘98 (MIT), and Katherine Tate (University of California–Irvine). Sponsored by the Elizabeth C. Ducey Political Science Lecture Fund, the event will take place on Saturday, November 6, in Vollum lecture hall, with a reception to follow.

Thank you for your continued support of PPLS. We look forward to the fall 2011 series, which will coincide with Reed’s centennial year, and hope you will join us for those exciting events.
