Justine Nakase (she/her) is a theatre maker and scholar with a Ph.D. in Drama, Theatre and Performance from the University of Galway, Ireland, where she was an Irish Research Council Postgraduate Scholar. Her teaching and research interests include race and performance, critical casting practices, intercultural theatre, contemporary Irish theatre, and equitable pedagogies. Justine is the co-editor of the two-volume collection The Golden Thread: Irish Women Playwrights, 1716-2016 (Liverpool University Press, 2021) and her writing has appeared in Shakespeare Bulletin (forthcoming), Scene, and New Hibernia Review. She co-produced the #wakingthefeministswest Theatre Season in Galway, Ireland in 2016-2017, and is currently the co-director of Theatre Diaspora, Portland's Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) theatre company.
