Chris Kottke is a mathematician whose interests lie in the intersection between analysis, geometry, topology, and physics, and whose research is primarily related to gauge theory and string theory. He has taught many different mathematical subjects at a variety of levels and loves working with students on topics which excite them. After earning a BA from Tufts University and a PhD from MIT, he held postdoctoral positions at Brown University and Northeastern University and served on the faculty at New College of Florida prior to coming to Reed in 2025.
