Psychology Colloquium: Dan Dennett, Tufts University, TED talk

Thursday, October 2, 4:15 PM - 5:30 PM
Psychology 136
This event is open only to current Reed students, faculty, and staff.

Join the psych department for a discussion (and pizza!) with a focus on this TED talk:

"The Illusion of Consciousness"

Dan Dennett, Tufts University

We’ll start by viewing Dr. Dennett’s TED talk, then move to a discussion of the talk and the issues Dr. Dennett raises.  A brief summary of his talk:

Philosopher Dan Dennett makes a compelling argument that not only do we not understand our own consciousness, but that half the time our brains are actively fooling us.
