Paideia Submissions for 2021

Dear staff and faculty:

Paideia 2021 will take place virtually from Saturday, January 16, to Sunday, January 24, 2021.

The Greek word Paideia (Παιδεία) is difficult to translate but denotes education in its broadest sense. For the ancient Greeks, this included philosophy, poetry, mathematics, physics, rhetoric, gymnastics, music, and medicine. At Reed, Paideia is a weeklong festival that takes place every January. The festival features many of hands-on workshops led by students, alumni, staff, and professors and are open to the entire Reed community. Length and format are up to you. This year we encourage you to get creative with your proposal as it transitions to the online format!

We invite students, faculty, staff, and alumni to submit an application to teach a class during Paideia. Classes can be on any topic you can imagine.  The more variety the better. They can be fun, silly, serious, informative, and more. Apply to teach a class for Paideia 2021! Deadline for submissions is Saturday, December 5.

Please reach out to paideia@reed.edu if you have any questions.

Thank you!
